Zola Bell (Hanks) Lewis

Zola Bell (Hanks) Partin-Lewis passed away on September 11, 2022, in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Zola was born on October 21, 1926, to Roy and Vida (Gallap) Hanks, in Fort Bidwell, California.  She attended grades 1 thru 10 at the school in Fort Bidwell, California then graduated from Gem State Christian Boarding Academy in Caldwell, Idaho

Zola married Clifford Partin, in Reno, Nevada in 1946, but made Lakeview, Oregon their home. They divorced in 1975, but from that marriage, a son Melvin Roy Partin was born.  She then married Marcus Partin in Winnemucca, Nevada in 1976, and they divorced in 1986. Zola moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1996 where she met and married Gerald “Jerry” E. Lewis on May 2, 1999.

Zola was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1986 and a Life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 4070 in Lakeview, Oregon.

Zola is preceded by; her parents, her husband Jerry Lewis, brothers; Eugene Roy Hanks, James Donald Hanks, and Carl Ray Hanks, sister; Opal Zella Daniels and a grandson James Edwin Partin

She is survived by her son Melvin Roy Partin of Lakeview, OR, Stepdaughter, Alison (Russell) Abernathy of Salinas, CA, Granddaughters; Marla (Gerald) Slay of Lakeview, OR, Jody (Benjamin) Johnston of Lakeview, OR and Step-granddaughters; Jannelle (Brian) Johnson of The Dalles, OR and Jennifer Smart of The Dalles, OR along with Step-Grandson Jason Shepard of Monterey, CA. numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, that were all very special to her.

There will be a celebration of life potluck for Zola on June 9,  2023, in Lakeview, Oregon at 11:00 A.M.
