Virginia Vandenberg Obituary

Virginia (Ginny) Vandenberg (age 85) passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2024 in Boise, Idaho.

Ginny was born on December 22nd, 1938, in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Howard Davis & Marion Frances Stott. She was raised in Klamath Falls and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1955.

She married John H. Vandenberg in Klamath falls, Oregon on August 29th, 1959. She was married to John Vandenberg for 40 years until his passing in 1999.  The two moved to Lakeview, Oregon in 1965 where they raised their two sons, Dave & Mike. Ginny worked at the Lake County Extension office for many years and enjoyed her time working at the Lake County Fair & Round Up. 

In Ginny’s early years she loved to camp with family and friends.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking and her dogs. She loved watching the news and never missed out on a good murder mystery. 

Ginny is survived by her sister Frances McKay in Durham, North Carolina.  Her two sons Dave Vandenberg of Lakeview, Oregon and Mike & Leslie Vandenberg of Meridian, Idaho.  Her four grandchildren, Lacey Howard and husband Caleb, Grady Vandenberg and his wife Breann of Lakeview, Oregon and Evan & Carter Vandenberg of Meridian, Idaho.  She also has 5 great grandchildren, Hale, Isiah, Lorien, Ellie, and Everleigh all of Lakeview, Oregon. 

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11th at 1:00 at the Desert Rose Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Oregon followed by a committal at Sunset Park cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in Ginny’s memory to the ASPCA at, as she loved her animals, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
