Ronald Morgan Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Larry Morgan passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021, in Lakeview, Oregon.

Ronald Larry Morgan was born December 29, 1964, in Fall River Mills, California to Floyd Ronald and Echo Helen (Parmentier) Morgan. Ron spent most of his childhood in Plush Oregon when his mother remarried Thomas Sullivan. Ron was the middle child to Yvonne Morgan(oldest) and Maureen Sullivan(youngest).

He later relocated to Lakeview Oregon in 1966 with both parents. Floyd Morgan later passed away in Roseburg Oregon, on May 5th, 1973, and is Buried at sunset cemetery in Lakeview Oregon. Echo Parmentier then passed away in Plush, Oregon September 8th, 1991. As a young boy, he grew up around the Keily kids getting into all kinds of mischief on the local ranches. Ron grew up watching his stepfather Tom Sullivan as a ranch hand, he was no stranger to a good horse and a good dog. He later went on to work for Keily's ranch and many other local ranches.

Merely 21 years old Ron had ridden many bronc horses and traveled some rough roads to find something rank to hop on for the weekend. The MC ranch became a big part of Ron in his early cowboy years, riding with some of the area’s best cowboys such as  Bill Black, Jim Hiatt, Don Hill, Dave Heath, Terry Cahill, Ross Dollarhide, George Shine, Lonny Schadler, and many more. He was very well known for his blue 60's model Chevy pickup and blue two-horse trailer that more often than not had a horse in it. He was the type of man who could put iron under his mount and handle any task for that day. He spent some brief time in Likely, California area working on some goat ranches and shoeing horses. At the end of the day as long as the beer was cold, and the horses were hot he was a happy man. Ron decided to try his hand at farming in the early 90s for Harold Gipson. He hung his spurs up twice a year to help them farm. He later went on to work for Steve Gipson seasonally.

To say Ron Morgan was a kindhearted, talented cowboy who would give someone the shirt off his back would be an understatement. He will be missed by many!

Ron was preceded by his parents; Floyd, Echo, and stepfather Thomas.

He is survived by sisters Yvonne Morgan, and Maureen Sullivan, Aunt; Lola Parmentier, Daughter; Cheyenne Morgan, Son’s; Larry and Michael Morgan, stepson; Landon Rosecrans, 5 granddaughters, and 1 grandson, along with numerous cousins and many lifelong friends; Eric Lucore, Steve Gipson, Geoff Lasiter and many more.
