Paul A. John, 88, of Lakeview, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, July 25, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Paul was born in Alliance, Neb. on April 16, 1933, to Paul and Adeline John. He grew up in southern California and attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
After his service in the Navy, he met his loving wife of 65 years. Paul and Betty Leona (Sutton) were married at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Pasadena, Calif. on July 21, 1956. Paul was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus. Paul was professed in the Third Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St. Teresa on Sept. 10, 1961.
Their six children were born the next 10 years, and they raised their happy family in southern California until 1973 when he moved his family to Lakeview to take a position at Napa Auto Parts. Moving a few more times around Oregon, he and his wife settled back in Lakeview.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Adeline John; and his sister, Patricia (MacFadden) Patterson.
He is survived by: wife, Betty; sons, Michael, John, and Andrew; daughters, Theresa, Angela, and Winifred; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Desert Rose, July 29, 2021, at 4 p.m. with Military Honors by Pastor Eric Sorensen. The funeral Mass will be held July 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 12371 Keno Worden Rd., Keno, OR.
