Oriana "Ory" Eulene (Banks) Ewell

"Oriana Ewell passed peacefully at St. Charles hospital in Bend Oregon on July 29th, 2020 with her husband Alan and niece Amber by her side.

Ory was born to Carl and Elizabeth Banks on October 20th, 1961 in Hanford California. 
She is survived in death by her husband Alan Ewell, son Jerry Ewell, daughter Miana Banks, mother Elizabeth Ewell, father Carl Banks, sister Scarlet Martinez, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 great-nieces, and 5 great-nephews. Oriana lived in central California and owned her own craft store in Hanford for a few years. In 1991, when she was 29 years old, Oriana moved to Oregon with daughter Miana where she met her husband Alan. They had a son together, Jerry, the light of her life. They all lived in Silver Lake until her passing.

Oriana was very involved in many aspects of volunteer work throughout the 3 communities of North Lake County. She was an integral part of many organizations including but not limited to the Red Cross, the Christmas Valley Food Share, North Lake School, and the Silver Lake Lions Club. She was also a big part of helping with local 4-H kids. Oriana served on the Silver Lake Fire Department and EMS where she was a firefighter for a time, an ambulance driver, and a First Responder.

She was probably best known for her amazing sewing talent. Oriana made many different household items but her quilts were her masterpieces. She made and gave away hundreds of them in her lifetime. Many of them will be displayed at her memorial service.

Contributions can be made in her honor to The Red Cross, the local Christmas Valley Food Bank, and The Silver Lake Lions Club.

A memorial service will be held in Silver Lake at the Old School Gym on August 4th, 2020 at 12 pm, with a graveside service for family to follow at the Silver Lake cemetery. Pastor Jeremy Warkentin will be presiding over the ceremony."
