Mary was born in Arizona. Her family moved to Oregon where she was raised before settling in California. She married Ellis Dale Phillips in Reno, Nevada on March 25, 1961, and moved to Morgan Hill to farm prunes, corn, and walnuts. Eventually, she and Dale established and operated The Montecito Christmas Tree farm and Boutique for 20 years. They retired in 2003, and moved to their Andy Hill property in Lakeview, Oregon, met many nice people, and settled into a content life.
She was an active member of the Morgan Hill Women’s Chamber of Commerce and a 4-H Club leader for many years. One of her many attributes was creativity. She loved to sew, design, and create
hand-made items and award-winning floats for the Morgan Hill 4th of July parade for Lillie Rist Construction.
Her home was always open to people and animals in need. People would often call her just to visit or get comforting advice. She always made everyone feel special and loved. She enjoyed puzzles, going to garage sales, and visiting over a cup of coffee but her true passion and joy was her family and friends. Mary’s memory will be forever a lasting as one of great kindness and generosity.
Mary was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale of 50 years, and Sister Jane Woodall.
Mary is survived by her Sister Janet Leslie, Children Guy Phillips (Cheryl) and Belinda Phillips, Grandson’s Justin Phillips (Stacy), Cory Phillips, Christopher Bradley (Brigitte), Bryan Bradley. Great-grandchildren Easton Phillips and Christopher Bradley Jr. and nephew Leslie Woodall (Toni).
Services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 10 am at the Westside Cemetery in Lakeview Oregon. Following the service, a potluck and celebration of life will be at the Westside Grange Hall.
