Lois Eulean Parmelee of Lakeview Oregon passed away on July 3, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Lois was born on February 8, 1936, to Clem and Eula Ervin in Keota, Oklahoma, the second of eight children. The family moved to Porterville, CA her junior year of high school where she was a standout basketball player. She graduated high school in 1953.
In 1955, she met Perry Parmelee, married three weeks later, and moved to Sanger, CA where they raised three children on a farm. She graduated from Fresno State University with a teaching degree in 1963. Her teaching career started at Wilson Elementary in Sanger, Ca where she taught until 1978. In the summer of 1978, she and her husband moved to a ranch in Lakeview, OR. Lois continued her teaching career in Lakeview until her retirement.
After her retirement, she settled into ranch and family life. Her hobbies were painting pottery, quilting, and sewing which she gifted to family and friends. She enjoyed her church family. She also enjoyed spending time with her large family.
Lois is survived by Perry, her husband of 68 years. Her three children are Perry (Francine) Parmelee of Klamath Falls, Terri Parmelee of Portland, and James (Deanne) Parmelee of Lakeview. Her four siblings, Charles, Dale, Joe, and Jim Ervin. Her seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is irreplaceable and will be missed by all.
A Celebration of life will be held for Lois on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church with a potluck to follow.
