Lois Cossey Moss was born on August 1, 1937, in Bethell, Oklahoma to Emmett and Ethel Cossey. Lois passed away on October 16, 2023, in Lakeview, Oregon.
Lois always believed that education was one of the most important things in life. Lois excelled in school, graduated from Lakeview High School in 1953, and went to college at just 15 years old. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in accounting. After returning from college, she met the love of her life, Donald Moss, and they were married on February 23, 1957. They later had two children, Cathy, and Diana, and raised them in Lakeview, OR. Lois worked for Fremont Sawmill until she retired. After retirement, she spent most of her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Lois loved to sing and dance; she always encouraged her children and grandchildren to learn an instrument and wanted to hear them play every chance she got. She spent most of her summers out at Drews Reservoir with family; swimming, fishing, and basking in the sun. If she wasn’t on the lake, you could find her out at the golf course with her husband and friends, or at the swimming pool. Lois was very competitive in everything she did, she loved to play cards and shoot dice, and whenever she got the chance you could find her in Reno, gambling with friends.
Lois, better known as “Granny”, spent a lot of time with her family. She loved them all so much and was always encouraging them to excel in everything they did, whether that be school, sports, or anything else. She made sure that she was at every sporting event, dance recital, and school program. Lois was an amazing woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Ethel Cossey, and her husband, Donald Moss.
Lois is survived by her daughter Cathy Proctor and husband Rondo Proctor, daughter Diana Silcocks and husband Mark Silcocks, grandson Jason Johnson and wife Melissa Johnson, grandson Brandon Johnson and wife Amanda Johnson, grandson Chase Silcocks and Katie Williams, great-grandson Jordan Ackerman, great-grandson Hunter Parks, great-granddaughter Lexis Johnson, great-grandson Moss Johnson, great-granddaughter Annie Johnson, brother Robert Cossey and wife Judy Cossey, brother Charles Cossey and wife Sherry Cossey, brother-in-law Roy Padget, and multiple nieces and nephews..
