Leona Myretta Robnett Joplin was called home by the Lord on Wednesday November 8, 2023.
She was born on February 28, 1931, in Lakeview to Ernest and Myra (Cloud) Robnett. She joined sisters Ethel and Corda and brother Darvin. She was later joined by brother Richard.
Leona attended elementary school in New Pine Creek and graduated in 1949 from Lakeview High School. She then went on the attend The University of Oregon for 2 years.
She married Dean Joplin on November 12, 1955. They welcomed daughter LaDene in February 1960, and daughter Michelle in 1964. Leona retired in 1989 from the Lakeview Superintendence Office where she had been a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for over 20 years.
It was at this time that she rekindled her artful talent that she had not enjoyed since the 1960's.
She loved painting in oils and watercolors. She mastered stained glass and china painting. Leona's true passion, and where she found peace was sitting behind her sewing machines.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean in April 2005.
Leona is survived by her daughter LaDene Lawson, daughter and son in law, Michelle and Gary Miller. Grandchildren Staci Thompson, Michelle Lawson, Maxwell Miller, Levi Miller, and Benjamin Miller. Great grandchildren Jessica Dowell, Jaren Thompson, Brylee Miller, Ren Miller, Elly Miller, Myles Miller and Clara Miller, and numerous nieces., and care giver Ibeth Herrera"Gramie" loved each one in her very own way. She will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at 1pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakeview, Oregon 97630. With a reception to follow.
