Karen Marie (Sheer) Parmentier

Karen Marie Parmentier 70, Returned to her home with Jesus on March 25, 2021.  Karen was born May 19, 1950, in Wendell Idaho to Art and Gladys Sheer.

She spent her childhood in Jerome Idaho until her family relocated to Oregon in 1959 then settling in Lakeview shortly after. She met and married the love of her life Lance Parmentier Oct. 16, 1982.  She was widowed 7 years later and never remarried.

After graduation in 1968, Karen received a scholarship from Soroptimist International which she used to earn an associate degree from Northwestern College of Business.  Later to establish Lake County Bookkeeping and Tax Service which she owned and operated for many years.  

Karen had a kind spirit and an outgoing personality the type to start a conversation with a stranger only to find a friendship. Starting in high school and though out her life she continuously volunteered her time among various clubs and organizations.  In recent years she has expressed great pride in serving god at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Lakeview as the office manager. 

Karen is preceded in death by; her parent's Art and Gladys Sheer; Brothers, Carl and sister-in-law Louette, Lloyd Raymond, Paul Arthur, and John Raymond Sheer.

Karen is survived by; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Mary Parmentier, Stepdaughter Meachell Girtman; Sister Donna and brother-in-law Jim Baiamonte, Brother Warren Sheer, Sister Linda, and brother-in-law Kevin Pardue. Grandson Bryan Parmentier, and nephews Steven and Andy Pardue.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 619 So. 1st Street, Lakeview, OR on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. There will be a reception luncheon to follow the services and Karen’s cremated remains will be interred at Sunset Park Cemetery in Lakeview, OR.

     Honorary Bearers are Kevin Pardue, Steven Pardue, Andy Pardue, Brian Parmentier, Carl ”Punk” Colton, Brandon Kerr, Con Fitzgerald, and Robert Lund.

Memorial contributions can be made in Karen’s name to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, Or 97201-3095 or to First Presbyterian Church, 619 South 1st Street, Lakeview, Or 97630, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
