Jesse Alexander Obituary

Jesse James Alexander, 82, passed away peacefully in Lake County, Oregon on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

Jesse was born August 31, 1939, to Emmett and Velma (Darrow) Alexander, in Decaturville, Missouri.

Jesse later met and married Betty Swango and they were married on June 30, 1959. They started their family with a daughter Kimda who was born on June 12, 1960.  Jesse and Betty decided to move to the Coast for 6 months, but then came back to Lakeview and lived here until 1962.  They then moved to Eugene for 4 years, where their son Kevin was born on March 20, 1964. We lost Kevin on November 30, 2019, in Eugene. Jessa our Granddaughter was born in Eugene on December 11, 2001.

Jesse worked at the old Safeway, Del Lepley’s Station, Chevy Garage, and Cal Newman’s Station.  Jesse owned and operated with his wife the 76 Station for 9 and a half years.  He then opened Jesse’s Auto Repair and worked there until his retirement.

Jesse loved cars, classic cars, and especially fast cars.  He was a drag racer and won 7 Wally Trophies from the NRHA.  That is a trophy that is hard to acquire. Jesse Loved to RACE!

Jesse also loves the Lord and was a Christian, now he is racing in heaven!

Jesse was proceeded by his parents, his son Kevin, and his sister Millie.

A Celebration of Life with a potluck will be held for Jesse next summer on July 15, 2023, at the Goose State Park.  More details will follow as the date arrives.
