James Dodson Obituary

James Clifford Dodson, 88, passed away peacefully at home in Lakeview, Oregon on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Cliff was born October 1, 1933, to Everett and Faye (Wells) Dodson, in Lakeview, Oregon. Cliff grew up and lived in Lake/Klamath county (Lakeview, Silver Lake, and Bly) his entire life until his passing.  He attended Lakeview High and only spent a few years outside of the area when he went to serve in the Army from 1953 to 1955.

Cliff was a truck driver in the timber industry and enjoyed hauling lumber and driving log trucks.  He loved ranching and being in the outdoors.  Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes.  Cliff also enjoyed sports, playing, and watching.  He was a bowler and played baseball.  He enjoyed watching bull riding and football, especially the 49’ers. 

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Merle.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Lakeview, OR, sons; James Brett (Lori) Dodson of Fallon, NV, Blaine Chester (Lori) Dodson of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter; Brenda Sue Pochop of Lakeview, OR and a sister; Norma Ann Hersha of Medford, OR, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Desert Rose Funeral Chapel, Lakeview, OR, at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow at the Eagles Lodge after the service.  The family is putting together a photo memory board if you would like to donate a photo, guests are invited to bring a printed copy of the picture to the reception to add to the memorial board.
