After the war, she lived in Pine Grove, Oregon where she attended high school (Maupin, Oregon) and worked at the local sawmill as a bookkeeper and gopher.

In 1958 she and her family moved to Alaska for a few years before returning to Eastern Oregon in 1960.

In 1967 the family moved back to Alaska, where she lived for the next 55 years, in a variety of places; Petersburg, Port Protection, St John’s Harbor, Labouchere Bay, and Juneau.

In 2012 she moved to Lakeview, Oregon to live with her youngest child Mike and his wife, Ramona.

She regularly attended and became affiliated with the Foursquare Church of Lakeview, with which she devoted a great deal of time and energy. The Church was a great part of her life and she was totally and utterly committed to Jesus Christ and to her brothers and sisters in Christ.
