Donna Hoyez Obituary

Donna Elizabeth Hoyez, born to Vern and Margaret Ross on July 26, 1937, in Eugene, OR, passed March 24, 2021, in Lakeview, OR.

Donna lived in Klamath before moving to Lakeview at the age of 13. There she met the love of her life Floyd Hoyez. They married on June 28, 1953, in Reno, NV. Floyd and Donna were married 67 years. During those 67 years, they had 3 children.

Donna worked at Redball stage for 25 years and owned the craft shop in the back.

Donna and Ruth Hale were the first to start softball in Lakeview and coached many teams throughout the years. Donna also enjoyed bowling and bowled on several leagues. Donna was a 4-H leader for knitting, sewing, and cooking. She was also a campfire leader and helped with camp Cottonwood. Donna was an avid hunter and she enjoyed camping, fishing, and arrowhead hunting. In her spare time, she liked crocheting, knitting, and quilting. Donna even sewed her children’s clothes made her daughters’ wedding dresses. There wasn’t anything Donna couldn’t make or fix. Donna also liked spending time in her flower garden during the summer. Donna loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would even travel to Washington just to visit them.

Donna is survived by her husband Floyd Hoyez, Lakeview, her children; Patricia Garman, Centralia, WA., Sheryl Pickering, Lakeview; her grandchildren Aaron Garman, Centralia, WA., Jessie Bush (Aaron), Chehalis, WA., Casey Daws (Amber), Lakeview, Kinsey Pappas (Jim), Roseburg, OR., her great-grandchildren; Isaac Garman, Adna, WA, Briley Daws, Alturas, CA., Charlotte Bush, Chehalis, WA., Harper Daws, Alturas, CA., Jace Daws, Lakeview, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her dad, Vern Ross, mom, Margaret Rhody (Spence), son, Floyd Hoyez III, brother, Vern Ross, sisters, Marilyn Christensen and Connie Gastaldi, and son-in-law, Marty Garman.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. There will be a reception following. Contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
