D. Jack Flynn
Jack was born to Irish immigrant parents John C. and Katherine (Crowley) Flynn on May 25, 1930, in Lakeview, the seventh of nine children.
Jack attended his first two years of high school at Saint Ignatius in San Francisco, and his last two years in Lakeview where he graduated in 1948. He attended Oregon State University before returning to the family ranch in Plush. He went into the service from 1955 until 1957 in Germany.
After returning from Germany Jack married Breda Lynch in 1957. They made their permanent home in Plush, from that moment on where they raised two daughters, Jackie Ann and Corinna.
Jack’s family started in the sheep business until they converted to cattle in the early 60s. Jack alongside Breda continued in the ranching business and recently attended a video sale in Reno.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Corinna Frank, parents, stepfather Denis O’Connor; brothers and sister-in-laws: Thomas (Joanne), Daniel (Beryl), Cornelius (Nora), Jerome (Eloise), Joe (Julia) Flynn: sisters and brother-in-laws: Margaret (Tom)Dunne, Kathleen Flynn, Maureen O’Callaghan; and several nephews and nieces.
He is survived by: his wife, Breda, Plush; daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Roger Mathis, St. Louis, Mo.; son-in-law Chad and Sheila Frank, Plush; grandchildren John (Elizabeth) Mathis, West Lake Village, Calif.; D. Jack Mathis, Chandler, Ariz.; Ross Frank, Lakeview; Keith (Courtney) Frank, Lakeview; Jace Frank, Plush; and Con Frank, Plush; great-granddaughter Holly and great-grandson Kace; and many nephews and nieces.
Rosary will be held Thursday, Aug. 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Aug. 5 at 11:00 a.m. St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lakeview.
