Charlie Threet

Jimmie Charles Threet, 88, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Madras, Oregon on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Charlie was born September 10, 1934, to Joshua Davis and Sarah Lucille (Watts) Threet, approximately 6 miles East of Ethel, Mississippi, on an 80-Acer farm.

Charlie’s family moved to Delta in 1946 where he finished high school at Lynn High School.  Charlie then moved to Oregon in 1951.  He started working for the Post Office in 1953 until his retirement in 1989. Charlie loved the Post office and visiting with all his friends as he delivered the mail.

Charlie loved his music and playing music for others to enjoy gave him pleasure, and you could always tell how happy it made him by the big smile on his face!  He played with the Goose Lake Grand Dad’s and the Old Time Fiddlers and boy did he enjoy it all!

Charlie was proceeded by his parents.

He is survived by his Son, Richard (Lori) Threet; his Daughters, Linda (Mike) Barrett, Mary Lewis, and Partner Jamie Kerr, 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Charlie at a later date.
