Carolyn Louise Thompson passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 28, 2023, at her home in New Pine Creek, Oregon.
Carolyn was born on December 19, 1944, to Willard and Helen (Montgomery) Crider in Festus, Missouri.
Carolyn and her family came out West when she was a young toddler. They lived in various towns in Oregon until settling in New Pine Creek when she was a teenager. When her family hit town, she caught the eye of her loving husband of 64 years Kenneth Thompson, and they were married a short time later.
Carolyn was a proud homemaker and raised her children, when they were older, she decided to go to work. She took a job at the hospital and started working there as a ward clerk and moved her way up to the medical records department, working there until her retirement.
Carolyn was a lover of collections, she collected beautiful sets of collectibles, some of them from the Bradford Exchange, Hallmark’s Christmas Ornaments, and TY Beanie Babies, just to name a few. She would always keep up with collecting the entire set and was proud of her collections. She also had a love for books and to follow along with her theme of collections she would acquire whole sets of books or all the books by a certain author. She loved to read, and she loved books! Most importantly though she loved her family and spending time with them, whether it be holiday gatherings, an evening meal, or some dice on the weekend, as long as it involved family at her house, she was the happiest. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She would buy every new Disney Movie when it came out and they would have special movie nights together. Some of the best moments for Carolyn were having her grandchildren come for sleepovers at her house one on one so that they felt special.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Michael, and Steven.
She is survived by her husband; Kenneth, children; John Thompson and Deanna Murphy, grandchildren; Kylie Hamilton (Javier Michel) and her children Gage & Grayson Leach, Jade (Matt) Montgomery and their son Riley, Sydni Murphy (Esteban Orozco) and their daughter Layla, 3 brothers; Josh (Rosie) Clark, Mark (Karen) Clark and John Branch, 2 sisters; Jan (Frank) Meadows, and Evie Branch, also her sister-n-law Nancy, along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the New Pine Creek Cemetery with a potluck to follow, (weather permitting) at the Goose Lake State Park.
