1940 ~ 2020 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Carolyn Brown Obituary

Carolyn Riddle Brown 80 went home to be with her savior on August 20, 2020, at the age of 80, peacefully in her sleep.  Carolyn was born in Jonesborough, Tennessee, to Fleet and Ollie (Harris) Riddle on April 17, 1940. 

Carolyn attended Lamar school and after high school graduation, she came to Lakeview, OR, to visit family and decided to stay.  There she met and married William (Bill) Brown at the Presbyterian Church on October 28, 1961.  From that union came two sons whom she adored.

Over the years she lived in Tennessee, Oregon, California, and Nevada, but settled in Bly, OR.  She worked as a bank bookkeeper for the 1st National Bank of Oregon, weighmaster for Weyerhaeuser, the State of Oregon., message center, clerk for IBM, Office clerk for other businesses, and Gearhart Elementary school.

She loved helping people, especially the elderly.  She would drive seniors and help them with their shopping, banking, and whatever they needed taken care of.  She did volunteer work at the church, teaching Sunday school for many years, and was a member of the Bly Faith Assembly.

She enjoyed singing.  She sang weekly in a nursing home while living in California, at church, on radio, and T.V. She also sang for weddings and funerals.  She enjoyed crafting and working in her rock garden.  She loved keeping the church decorated as well.

Carolyn is Preceded by; her parents, and 4 brothers; Bud, Harl, Charlie, and Jack

Carolyn is survived by her husband Bill, son’s Allan and Brent, (wife Keenie) sister Helen, brother’s Ronnie and Lewis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 29, 2020, @12:00 P.M. at the Sunset Park Cemetery in Lakeview, OR.  Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s memory can be made to Klamath Hospice 4745 South 6th Street, Klamath Falls, OR 97603.
