Alene Marie Damuth

Alene Marie Damuth, 89 died at her Lakeview home on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Alene was born to Alex and Irene (Schisel) Scott on May 26, 1930, in Escondido, CA.  Escondido is where she spent her childhood, running to the hills and playing on the beaches of Ocean Side, Calif.

Alene met and married Jack in 1948, they were married for 63 years.  Alene & Jack worked and managed ranches, which brought them to Bly, OR with their three children in 1965.  In 1970, they moved to Lakeview to manage the Open A Heryford Ranch until their retirement in 1995.

Alene’s life was full of family, ranch work, and friends.  Her life consisted of following her kids and grandkids.  Alene was very gifted and creative in many areas of her life.  She had a talent for utilizing many things to make works of art.  Nothing was too much of a challenge that she wouldn’t attempt doing it, be it cooking, sewing, painting, or even welding, but above all Alene loved her family passionately.

Alene was preceded in death by her parents Alex & Irene Scott and her husband Jack Damuth.

She was survived by her Sons; Rand Damuth & Kim, Matt Damuth, Daughter and Son-n-law; Prairie & Bill Plumb, Grandchildren; Rainee & Ryan Perdue, Justin & Samantha Mills, Sam & Crista Damuth, Matt & Lucia Damuth, Clay & Emily Damuth, Cole & Teddy Damuth, Cord Damuth & Lilly, Great Grandchildren; Fletcher Damuth, Kaycee Jack Mills and Matteline Damuth.

At the request of Alene there will be only a private family gathering at a later date.

Contributions in Alene’s memory can be made to the Lakeview Disaster Unit, P.O. Box 1007, Lakeview, OR 97630, Oregon Cattlewomen’s Association, 4409 Bliss Road, Bonanza, OR 97623 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
